Tickets are now on sale for the ever-popular Flight Academy experience at Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park (RVP), which will return over the school summer holidays.
The programme, for children between the ages of four and 12, explores the various jobs that help keep Manchester Airport running. Those taking part will get the chance to learn more about the duties of everyone from flight crew to the airfield team, whilst trying some of them out in costume.
During the 90-minute experience, youngsters taking part will also sit in the cockpit of a retired DC10 airliner and get a taste for what it would be like to fly a commercial aircraft.
They then head outside for a closer look at Manchester Airport’s runways, watch planes taking off and landing, and see some of the various jobs that they’ve learned about in action.
Sessions will run on selected dates in July and August, with a ticket price of just £14 for one adult and one child.
Those making a booking for Flight Academy can also benefit from a reduced rate of £5 for a full day’s parking at the Runway Visitor Park, giving them the chance to take in its other attractions, such as its observation deck, tours of its retired airliners including the iconic Concorde, and a 360-degree immersive Flight Simulator. The Runway Visitor Park also offers a sizeable play area and on-site café.
